I know it’s been awhile since I last sat down to write a post, but I have been real busy! I moved! I moved to a much bigger studio in a new place. My studio is now located at Western Avenue Studios, 122 Western Ave., Lowell, MA 01851, studio #313.

My husband and I have been so busy rehabbing the space. We did lots of painting. It needed color! It was all white with a dull black floor and one textured khaki wall. Sadly the natural brick was already white washed, so nothing I could do about that. After being in there for awhile, I knew I couldn’t look at that large white brick wall, especially because I planned on keeping the two side walls white so the art can pop off of them. In my experience, it is dicey painting brick walls, I’ve seen some brick walls painted various weird colors. I finally decided on a Tiffany-like blue and I am happy with it. I replicated my pear green color that was on my former studio wall for my “pop of color” wall at the front of house. My husband insisted on painting the floor glossy black, and he was right, it looks much better. I also painted my hallway wall, as throughout the five floors of studios, everyone decorates the hallways too. I chose a strong teal color to accent the other colors that were already present in our hallway. Then the pièce de rèsistance: I painted my door black and white stripe! I can’t tell you how happy it makes me when I look at it. I have been wanting to do a black and white horizontal stripe somewhere, and finally I did it.

I have also been busy in the middle of this rehab to make some new things for holiday open studios. The glitter has been flying at the home studio!

I hope you can come and visit my new place during open studios and check out some of these things I have crafted. Directions to Western Avenue Studios are here.
Come in at the A building entrance and take the elevator to the third floor. Exit elevator and turn right and follow until hallway ends, then turn left. Look for the black and white striped door! Studio #313.
